UNTAMED speaks to the endless rugged beauty of the countryside.  Curves of perfection, the way the light hits the land, (if only momentarily),  through the clouds.  Ancient stones, winding roads, and gentle grasses.
 
Over the last decade I've driven regulary, often once a week, out into the Yorkshire Dales to simply 'be' in the vastness of its wild.  When life has at times made no sense, when all else has felt unstable and uncertain, the untamed Dales have been a constant.  A solace for the soul. 
 
These days I visit less regularly, but each time, with a fondness, internal warmth, and sense of belonging.
 
When the team at Jigsaw informed me the Autumn Winter campain theme was 'Untamed', the photos for which were shot in the Yorkshire countryside. I felt there couldn't be a more fitting campaign for me to use as an off ramp for creating two new pieces: 'Untamed', and 'The Falls'.
 
Both have been created predominantly with acrylics.  Texturising medium adds depth, as do the smoky charcoal tones of palo santo wood.
